In the 6th minute Federico Espiridion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filomeno Lehoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ismael Rexino hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baltasar Beliran in the 12th minute of play forced Sportivo Devoto's goalkeeper Filomeno Lehoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodrigo Berasko hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abel Fidele got free with Felix Sein in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Abel Fidele came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Sportivo Devoto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Fidele couldn't finish the play. A collision led to RIVER PLATE getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Severino Erlantz hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Severiano Hitz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sportivo Devoto's supporters rose to their feet, but Severiano Hitz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Sein breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Fidele was extremely unlucky when he, in the 34th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. RIVER PLATE's defense didn't have a chance, in the 34th minute, when Severiano Hitz scored to the left of an out of position Felix Sein, making the score, 1-0. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RIVER PLATE reached it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severiano Hitz to make the kick off. A collision led to Sportivo Devoto getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Geronimo Ortzi hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltasar Beliran to maneuver through the defense. Severiano Hitz struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Felix Sein didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sportivo Devoto. Federico Espiridion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Filomeno Lehoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sportivo Devoto's Rolando Haritz got a free kick in the 65th minute. Baltasar Beliran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filomeno Lehoi having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simon Abarca during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Filomeno Lehoi made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Baltasar Beliran sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of RIVER PLATE booed when Sportivo Devoto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Fidele didn't get a good kick on the ball. Federico Espiridion succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in RIVER PLATE's zone, Abel Fidele stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Sein came out of the goal and Abel Fidele tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baltasar Beliran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 90th match minute, Sportivo Devoto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Haritz to maneuver through the defense. Filomeno Lehoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Espiridion, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
