After a defensive mix-up in quilmes's zone, Teofilo Berbiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Laurendi came out of the goal and Teofilo Berbiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Simon Laurendi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriana Conrao, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 29th minute Adriana Conrao shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simon Laurendi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind quilmes's goalkeeper Simon Laurendi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 45 minutes, Adriana Conrao managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Juancho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adriana Conrao was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andres Hever to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Paulino Obano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. quilmes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Juancho the free kick. Teofilo Berbiz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Simon Laurendi having to make a save. Juancho's Santiago Belo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Hever in the 60th minute of play. In the 63rdth minute of the game Adriana Conrao who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but quilmes's Simon Laurendi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Rutenio in the 67th minute of play forced Juancho's goalkeeper Santiago Belo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Juancho's Adriana Conrao in the 71st minute got a chance for a shot 71st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye quilmes's goalie prevented a goal. If Teofilo Berbiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Teofilo Berbiz struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Simon Laurendi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juancho. quilmes's Simon Laurendi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriana Conrao in the 94th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Cristian Rutenio managed to get in a good position for a shot. quilmes's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Rutenio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Santiago Belo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the quilmes players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Juancho.
