In the 29th minute Bernardo Eduino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulino Rivero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nemesio Baumer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Herminio Paublo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Paulino Rivero made a huge save. Apolo Ruy kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Paulino Rivero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christian Silbestre, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Nemesio Baumer made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Melo's goal looked a bit too open when Herminio Paublo came free, but Paulino Rivero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulino Rivero was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 90 played minutes Melo got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Peli. In the 92nd minute, Christian Silbestre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guerreros de Villa Crespo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christian Silbestre in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulino Rivero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Melo's Paulino Rivero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Herminio Paublo in the 97th minute of play. In the 98th minute, Genaro Maria got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guerreros de Villa Crespo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
