Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After a defensive mix-up in RIVER PLATE UTD's zone, Paulo Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moises Piearres came out of the goal and Paulo Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Celestino Frederico during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Matará FC's Celestino Frederico got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 22 played minutes Matará FC got a freekick which was hit by Baldomero Ieltxu. 24 minutes into the match, Paulo Santos dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Moises Piearres, 2-0. If Paulo Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute, Celestino Frederico fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Abel Valiente took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Niceto Sugar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th match minute, RIVER PLATE UTD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Onofre to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cleto Patrido made the kick off in the second half. When Matará FC's Celestino Frederico in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Abel Valiente made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Niceto Sugar sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Matará FC booed when RIVER PLATE UTD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zeledon Onofre didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, RIVER PLATE UTD's goal looked a bit too open when Celestino Frederico came free, but Moises Piearres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
