When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Lázaro Sansone sped through Salto FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Leopoldo Lia. Justo Unai sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eleuterio Maule made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Claris in the 30th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lázaro Sansone in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leopoldo Lia saved Salto FC from getting behind. In the 33rd minute, Lázaro Sansone ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Lia was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Jairo Erramu's late challenge caught a Salto FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
