In the 7th minute Tião Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Quintan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Blas Olentzaro's late challenge caught a Club Atletico River Plate's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Blas Olentzaro helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Potrero FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 10th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Club Atletico River Plate a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ovidio Beila, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Potrero FC's Jairo Quintan. 0-1. Nereo Buinton hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Potrero FC's goalkeeper Jairo Quintan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Nereo Buinton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atletico River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Potrero FC the free kick. Nereo Buinton hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Potrero FC's Jairo Quintan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilano Elorri in the 29th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Atilano Elorri in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jairo Quintan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute of the match Potrero FC got a corner. Club Atletico River Plate's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Segundo Guillelme ran over to the corner to take the kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vaino Artla was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Potrero FC were awarded a corner. Segundo Guillelme went to the cornerflag to take it. Jairo Quintan was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Tião Souza capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tião Souza really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Jairo Quintan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tião Souza in the 58th minute of the match. Nestor Tohias showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vaino Artla, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Club Atletico River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Olentzaro came free, but Nestor Tohias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Potrero FC's Vaino Artla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nestor Tohias narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Club Atletico River Plate's Arman Hellqvist got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Potrero FC's Segundo Guillelme couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Club Atletico River Plate. Ovidio Beila kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Potrero FC's Segundo Guillelme got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 86th minute of the match, Tião Souza tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jairo Quintan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Vaino Artla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Potrero FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Atletico River Plate were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
