The supporters of Soven booed when Atletico Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nereo Euloxu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 18th minute Marcial Ellande suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Svante Helberg charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Svante Helberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Soven's Santiago Honesto was substituted for Marcial Ellande. In the 20th match minute, Atletico Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svante Helberg to maneuver through the defense. Soven's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gaston Endira in the 54th minute. After taking down the ball on Soven's corner Gaston Endira fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bartolo Xacintu quite easily take care of the ball. After 59 minutes of play, Soven's Nicanor Frisco made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bartolo Xacintu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nicanor Frisco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 80 minutes, Svante Helberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atletico Madrid's supporters crossed their fingers, but Svante Helberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94thth minute of the game Gaston Endira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atletico Madrid's Bartolo Xacintu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Soven's Nicanor Frisco got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bartolo Xacintu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Frisco's shot from short distance in the 97th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Soven fans cheered their team off the field, for while Atletico Madrid had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
