Gaston Intxixu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SPORT ÑU´I 1987. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Aquilino Maiorga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. GAROMPAS FC's Augusto Bernaldo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Yoel Putin, made in the 66th minute of the game. 67 minutes into the match, GAROMPAS FC's Jeronimo Florin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Francisco Chávez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 70 played minutes GAROMPAS FC got a freekick which was hit by Severiano Ceandro. In the 95th minute Jeronimo Florin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Chávez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. GAROMPAS FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
