After having played for 20 minutes, Denis Rios managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ordóñez AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Denis Rios was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Freddy Dantae hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. When Edgardo Sadurni came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Giant Killing fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgardo Sadurni couldn't finish the play. Denis Rios fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Sedeni having to interfere. Horacio Sedeni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Rios in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute of the match, Denis Rios tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Horacio Sedeni saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jorge Llorian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Horacio Sedeni made a huge save. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sergio Guifre stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
