Jose Cordarius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blas Lauro, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Hormiguero's Faustino Goren pulled a muscle in his back after 18 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Raul Betadur fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Finoli's protests and gave Raul Betadur a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Finoli getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Raul Betadur hit a great ball. If Blas Lauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Placido Cordara hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Blas Lauro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Jose Cordarius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Hormiguero got a freekick which was hit by Jesus Gartzen. The crowd rose to their feet as Patricio Nesor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Baladi. That made the score 1-0 in the 32 minute of play. In the 37th minute, Patricio Nesor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Finoli fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After a rather tough play, Hormiguero's Blas Lauro got a free kick in the 40th minute. Patricio Nesor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Baladi having to interfere. 45 minutes into the match, Hormiguero's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Nesor came free, but Carlos Baladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Patricio Nesor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nick Eberlein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th minute, Blas Lauro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hormiguero's Carlos Baladi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Nesor in the 60th minute of play. Fernando Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 69 minutes into the match, Hormiguero's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Nesor came free, but Carlos Baladi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute, one of Hormiguero:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hormiguero. The referee gave Finoli a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Calistrat Dumitrescu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Hormiguero's Carlos Baladi. 4-0. Blas Lauro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Cordarius having to interfere. With a little luck, Finoli's Jose Cordarius got control of the ball when Blas Lauro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Andres Domiku kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Patricio Nesor in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Baladi saved Hormiguero from getting behind. The supporters of Finoli booed when Hormiguero was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Blasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Finoli's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
