Newells Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ASTRONOTUS the free kick. In the 12th minute, Martin Admon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeremias Felipillo in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Desiderio Estevez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 19 played minutes ASTRONOTUS got a freekick which was hit by Genaro Apolloni. Americo Edwardo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julio Admon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 21st minute, Prospero Abastas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jeremias Felipillo came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the ASTRONOTUS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jeremias Felipillo couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Felipillo in the 26th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Desiderio Estevez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of ASTRONOTUS booed when Newells Old Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bartolo Valiente didn't get a good kick on the ball. Newells Old Boys's Desiderio Estevez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeremias Felipillo in the 31st minute of play. When Benito Marcones fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ASTRONOTUS's protests and gave Benito Marcones a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, ASTRONOTUS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benito Marcones to maneuver through the defense. In the 33rd minute Rolando Arnas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Americo Edwardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Americo Edwardo made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Martin Admon sent off a good shot on target. Americo Edwardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gavino Valiente in the 44th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gavino Valiente's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Americo Edwardo was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Desiderio Estevez came out of the goal in the 49th minute to try and stop a shot by ASTRONOTUS's Jeremias Felipillo. But to his dismay, Jeremias Felipillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Julio Admon to strike the kick off in the second half. Newells Old Boys's Julio Admon got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jeremias Felipillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68thth minute of the game Jeremias Felipillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells Old Boys's Desiderio Estevez was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Newells Old Boys's Julio Admon got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 73rd match minute, ASTRONOTUS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prospero Abastas to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the game, Gavino Valiente was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newells Old Boys's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ASTRONOTUS the free kick. ASTRONOTUS's Benito Marcones shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 80th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Desiderio Estevez but with some difficulty. In the 81st minute, Anastasio Macerio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes in the game, Cirilo Mero fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Desiderio Estevez having to interfere. If Jeremias Felipillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jeremias Felipillo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Desiderio Estevez was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the game, Adolfo Cañete recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Desiderio Estevez. Adolfo Cañete showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Felipillo in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Desiderio Estevez saved Newells Old Boys from getting behind. Gavino Valiente hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Jeremias Felipillo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Desiderio Estevez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Jeremias Felipillos short, quick shot in the 98thth minute got Desiderio Estevez to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A hard shot by Prospero Abastas from long distance, 100 minutes into the match, got Desiderio Estevez's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The Newells Old Boys fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. ASTRONOTUS were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
