In the 9thth minute of the game Martin Admon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Crespense's Feliciano Henry was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Feliciano Henry showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Admon in the 14th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Martin Admon in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Feliciano Henry saved Real Crespense from getting behind. Feliciano Henry showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Admon, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Geronimo Oliverio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Desiderio Estevez having to interfere. If Martin Admon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliciano Henry took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Admon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Admon in the 39th minute of play forced Real Crespense's goalkeeper Feliciano Henry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Real Crespense defense, Martin Admon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Feliciano Henry. The Real Crespense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Feliciano Henry should have stopped the shot. When Newells Old Boys's Julio Admon in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Crespense's goalie prevented a goal.

In the 53rd minute of the match Newells Old Boys got a corner. Real Crespense's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rolando Arnas ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Newells Old Boys's Rolando Arnas to fire away a dangerous shot which Feliciano Henry despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Feliciano Henry made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martin Admon in the 58th minute. A collision led to Real Crespense getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Donato Urbasa hit a great ball. After 71 minutes of play, Newells Old Boys's Martin Admon made it 1-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Feliciano Henry was left in no man's land by his defense there! Real Crespense's Donato Urbasa got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 78th match minute, Real Crespense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Chago to maneuver through the defense. In the 81st minute of the match, Martin Admon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Feliciano Henry was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Real Crespense's zone, Martin Admon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Feliciano Henry came out of the goal and Martin Admon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Real Crespense's Feliciano Henry got control of the ball when Martin Admon tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Donato Urbasa fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Crespense's protests and gave Donato Urbasa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Real Crespense getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Carmelo Gomez hit a great ball. Julio Admon struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Feliciano Henry didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Newells Old Boys's Gavino Valiente got a free kick in the 91st minute. Julio Admon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Feliciano Henry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Newells Old Boys supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Newells Old Boys would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
