The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, Roberto Basajaun mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the G.I.O. and the urutaú AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 21st minute, Fransesco Severens reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Pascual Marcones. The goal made the score 1-0. Leonardo Artizar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 26 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in urutaú AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 26th minute. Penalty! Sergio Munio's late challenge caught a urutaú AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fransesco Severens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pascual Marcones having to make a save. Eugenio Arotza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Pascual Marcones tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cleto Valerio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Chesus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Fransesco Severens struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Pascual Marcones didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for urutaú AFC. A collision led to urutaú AFC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Gustavo Dantae hit a great ball. Bonifacio Richie took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 56th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Cleto Valerio. urutaú AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 58th minute Ciriaco Efraim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cleto Valerio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. G.I.O.'s Pascual Marcones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fransesco Severens in the 62nd minute of play. Pascual Marcones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eugenio Arotza, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Gonzalo Camerino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Cleto Valerio made a huge save. Pascual Marcones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fransesco Severens in the 86th minute of play. G.I.O.'s Pascual Marcones played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Dantae in the 89th minute of play. If Fransesco Severens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 minutes, Jaime Uzuri mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the G.I.O. and the urutaú AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
