An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Gorri in the 21st minute of play forced G.I.O.'s goalkeeper Pascual Marcones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonzalo Camerino kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Sergio Maiorga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 28th minute Armando Gurutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pascual Marcones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Gurutz in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pascual Marcones prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Armando Gurutz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Boca Juniors's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Gurutz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pascual Marcones breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pascual Marcones didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zygmunt Wieloch went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 44thth minute of the game Armando Gurutz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but G.I.O.'s Pascual Marcones was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Boca Juniors's Evelio Prejun was substituted for Daniel Gorri. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Armando Gurutz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, G.I.O.'s goal looked a bit too open when Armando Gurutz came free, but Pascual Marcones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 played minutes G.I.O. got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Basajaun. After a rather tough play, G.I.O.'s Ciriaco Efraim got a free kick in the 74th minute. Boca Juniors's Herminio Bernal was substituted for Armando Gurutz. After 75 played minutes G.I.O. got a freekick which was hit by Ciriaco Efraim. If Sergio Maiorga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Herminio Bernal in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pascual Marcones saved G.I.O. from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Teobaldo Abeitia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 86 played minutes G.I.O. got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Basajaun. If Evelio Prejun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pascual Marcones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herminio Bernal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 played minutes G.I.O. got a freekick which was hit by Teobaldo Abeitia. Sergio Maiorga struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Pascual Marcones didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. When the referee ended the match the Boca Juniors players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
