When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Ciro Tino put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Rosendo Lluc. Candelaria FC's Fernan Fernanco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Segio in the 20th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Candelaria FC's Leonel Pacifico got a free kick in the 21st minute. Fernan Fernanco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Segio in the 27th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Horacio Christobal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Candelaria FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Horacio Christobal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rosendo Lluc breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Manolo Rosa made a kick off. If Horacio Christobal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manolo Rosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fernan Fernanco came out and tried to block the shot, but Manolo Rosa slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 58th minute. Rosendo Lluc came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Candelaria FC's Horacio Christobal. But to his dismay, Horacio Christobal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo Mantzio during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Candelaria FC's Tobias Aureo was substituted for Armando Nesto. Candelaria FC's Alfonso Lixandro was substituted for Leonel Pacifico. After 72 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Candelaria FC! Fernan Fernanco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Segio, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Horacio Christobal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rosendo Lluc having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciro Tino in the 84th minute of play forced atlas's goalkeeper Rosendo Lluc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 85 minutes into the game, Anibal Peruxu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-3. Rosendo Lluc was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Horacio Christobal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st minute, Horacio Christobal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Manolo Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
