Dorel Vişoiu took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Justo Recondo. Justo Recondo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The audience was convinced that Americo Ospin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cipriano Artaldo was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Zoran Mitkov kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. In the 44thth minute of the game Americo Ospin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Fortunato's Cipriano Artaldo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gervasio Laurgain struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Cipriano Artaldo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ceibal AFC. After the first half Deportivo Fortunato were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

A collision led to Ceibal AFC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Americo Ospin hit a great ball. After 56 minutes, Gaston Patrido mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Deportivo Fortunato and the Ceibal AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 67 played minutes Ceibal AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bernabe Laurin. In the 72nd minute, Julio Tauro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justo Recondo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After a rather tough play, Deportivo Fortunato's Dorel Vişoiu got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 78th minute, Gavino Cedro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zoran Mitkov got free with Justo Recondo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gavino Cedro during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience held their breath when Agustin Jon in the 90th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Justo Recondo's left hand side. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Ceibal AFC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
