Leopoldo Lain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Gabino, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Leopoldo Lain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Gabino in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes into the game, Luciano Salamon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Leopoldo Lain was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Carmelo Briso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sarmiento AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmelo Briso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leopoldo Lain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Edgard Gabino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th minute Edgard Gabino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Lain saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carmelo Briso was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 29 minutes into the match. Carmelo Briso kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Edgard Gabino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leopoldo Lain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgard Gabino in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 minutes Retamal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luciano Salamon who took care of the corner kick. Luciano Salamon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Lain having to interfere. Leopoldo Lain showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miloslav Jurek in the 61st minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Luciano Salamon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sarmiento AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Leopoldo Lain was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 82 minutes into the match, Retamal's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Celipe came free, but Leopoldo Lain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Gabino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Leopoldo Lain when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 88 minutes into the match, Retamal's goalkeeper Leopoldo Lain had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Salamon. Edgard Gabino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leopoldo Lain read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Luciano Salamon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Leopoldo Lain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlos Abilio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Retamal's Feliberto Bidun got a free kick in the 95th minute. Sarmiento AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
