With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateo Rio in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ceferino Maldonado saved Pineapple FC from getting behind. Godfredo Bernal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Anier Medero made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Fuertes in the 21st minute of play forced Pineapple FC's goalkeeper Ceferino Maldonado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 played minutes Pineapple FC got a freekick which was hit by Julio Clis. Mateo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After having played for 28 minutes, Esteban Fuertes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despertador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Esteban Fuertes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Esteban Fuertes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Despertador's supporters rose to their feet, but Esteban Fuertes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ceferino Maldonado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Mateo Rio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Esteban Fuertes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mateo Rio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ceferino Maldonado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Esteban Fuertes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mateo Rio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Maldonado having to interfere. Ceferino Maldonado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Rodriguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Ceferino Maldonado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban Fuertes in the 53rd minute. After a rather tough play, Despertador's Sebastian Galoer got a free kick in the 56th minute. Pineapple FC's Santiago Lander couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 57th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Despertador. Pineapple FC's Ceferino Maldonado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Pineapple FC from getting a goal against them. In the 66th minute, Pineapple FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Esteban Fuertes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Pineapple FC's zone, Mateo Rio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ceferino Maldonado came out of the goal and Mateo Rio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Esteban Fuertes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Despertador fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Despertador's Braulio Rodriguez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mateo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 78 played minutes Pineapple FC got a freekick which was hit by Mauricio Piarres. After having played for 80 minutes, Mateo Rio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Despertador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Rio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute, Esteban Fuertes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Mateo Rio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Esteban Fuertes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Braulio Rodriguez recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ceferino Maldonado. Braulio Rodriguez showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Despertador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
