Guillermo Rosio hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fedor Vakhratimov in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Remigio Mazuste saved River Plate from getting behind. Per Axelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Remigio Mazuste tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 25 minutes River Plate's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Adan Vasco who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Deportivo Esparta Unida's Adan Vasco to fire away a dangerous shot which Remigio Mazuste despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fedor Vakhratimov in the 29th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Remigio Mazuste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute Fedor Vakhratimov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remigio Mazuste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fedor Vakhratimovs short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Remigio Mazuste to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Arnaldo Onofre hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. A hard shot 39 in the game by Fedor Vakhratimov from a close distance when the talented Remigio Mazuste managed to make a qualified save. River Plate's players were relieved. Fedor Vakhratimov could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Remigio Mazuste made a huge save. Andres Montrel kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The supporters of River Plate booed when Deportivo Esparta Unida was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Eguerdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedor Vakhratimov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the River Plate defense, Fedor Vakhratimov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Remigio Mazuste. The River Plate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Remigio Mazuste should have stopped the shot. After 60 minutes of play, Deportivo Esparta Unida's Fedor Vakhratimov made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Remigio Mazuste was left in no man's land by his defense there! 63 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Per Axelsson came free, but Remigio Mazuste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65th play minutes Fedor Vakhratimov shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Remigio Mazuste and just under the crossbar into goal. Fedor Vakhratimov might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Remigio Mazuste. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fedor Vakhratimov ran back to his position shaking his head. 72 minutes into the game, Andres Montrel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. River Plate's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deportivo Esparta Unida the free kick. The supporters of Deportivo Esparta Unida booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andres Montrel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Everardo Dacio's late challenge caught a Deportivo Esparta Unida's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Everardo Dacio helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th minute, Everardo Dacio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Adan Vasco struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Remigio Mazuste didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Esparta Unida. Remigio Mazuste stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fedor Vakhratimov's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute of the match Deportivo Esparta Unida got a corner. River Plate's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Adan Vasco ran over to the corner to take the kick. Deportivo Esparta Unida's Adan Vasco was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Remigio Mazuste in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Adan Vasco succeeded in the game's 80th minute to get real power on a long shot . River Plate's Remigio Mazuste hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 6-0! Fedor Vakhratimov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Remigio Mazuste read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th minute, Fedor Vakhratimov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deportivo Esparta Unida fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 91stth minute of the game Fedor Vakhratimov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Remigio Mazuste was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 96th minute, Per Axelsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Deportivo Esparta Unida players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
