In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Maizales FC's goalkeeper Fabricio Erdiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fabricio Erdiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the match, Cuquero AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Justino Toli came free, but Omar Ondino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

After having played for 54 minutes, Severiano Orti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuquero AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Severiano Orti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Basilio Lore had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernabe Arotza hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Fabricio Erdiano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severiano Orti in the 91st minute. After having played for 95 minutes, Albino Joachim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
