Faustino Shepherd made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aquilino Lonzo in the 11th minute. Cafayate's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Robustiano Llorenc in the 16th minute. Ruperto Osasun hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. A collision led to Cafayate getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Rogelio Otsoa hit a great ball. Faustino Shepherd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ariel Erlantz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Aquilino Lonzo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Faustino Shepherd, 2-0. After 34 minutes, Celestino Madeo made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Legion Romana's Cayetano Furtado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hipolito Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Furtado having to interfere. A collision led to Cafayate getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Rogelio Otsoa hit a great ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Anton Pavlyk stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Cafayate's goal looked a bit too open when Ariel Erlantz came free, but Faustino Shepherd reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hipolito Duarte sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Salvidor in the 94th minute of play forced Cafayate's goalkeeper Faustino Shepherd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Legion Romana's Aquilino Lonzo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the game, Aquilino Lonzo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Faustino Shepherd was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. For all the effort they put into the match, the Cafayate players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Legion Romana.
