The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Santos Walme's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Gonsalvo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Arenales's Aureliano Ferman got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vikingos booed when Arenales was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Salvador Joseph didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Benvide sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John-Edvin Bratvold struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Julio Gonsalvo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikingos. Arenales's Albano Sol got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If John-Edvin Bratvold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leszek Szkarpiak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albano Sol in the 21st minute of play. Aureliano Ferman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leszek Szkarpiak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albano Sol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leszek Szkarpiak made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aureliano Ferman in the 33rd minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aureliano Ferman was the one to do the kick off. John-Edvin Bratvold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Julio Gonsalvo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Santos Walme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Elias Benvide had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Gonsalvo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santos Walme in the 71st minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Arenales's goal looked a bit too open when Santos Walme came free, but Julio Gonsalvo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Gonsalvo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santos Walme's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Vikingos's Santos Walme got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santos Walme blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Gonsalvo having to make a save. A collision led to Vikingos getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Teodoro Noe hit a great ball. Francisco Nevada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leszek Szkarpiak came out of the goal in the 84th minute to try and stop a shot by Arenales's Albano Sol. But to his dismay, Albano Sol quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience was convinced that Santos Walme's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Gonsalvo was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Santos Walme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Gonsalvo having to interfere. Albano Sol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Leszek Szkarpiak tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute, Albano Sol fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Leszek Szkarpiak, passed just outside the right post. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Vikingos lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
