Einar Hauglid came out of the goal and Siro Brion tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of ЀĄ†ħ И؆€ booed when Boca Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Porfirio didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Hipolito Porfirio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. ЀĄ†ħ И؆€'s Matias Ihazintu got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Javier Nerio lost his temper 22 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Boca Juniors fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! The referee gave ЀĄ†ħ И؆€ a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Matias Ihazintu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Boca Juniors's Einar Hauglid. 2-0. When Ceferino Darien came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the ЀĄ†ħ И؆€ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ceferino Darien couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes into the match, ЀĄ†ħ И؆€'s goal looked a bit too open when Erasmo Su came free, but Ovando Mora reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 39 minutes, Ceferino Darien managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ЀĄ†ħ И؆€'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Ceferino Darien was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Einar Hauglid showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Siro Brion in the 40th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ceferino Darien made a kick off. Rosendo Iliana hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Boca Juniors's Einar Hauglid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ceferino Darien in the 58th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Matias Ihazintu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Einar Hauglid was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. In the 62nd minute, Ceferino Darien left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ЀĄ†ħ И؆€ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Ceferino Darien sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ceferino Darien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Einar Hauglid having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Ceferino Darien came free, but Einar Hauglid reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hipolito Porfirio charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hipolito Porfirio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Boca Juniors defense, Ceferino Darien kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Einar Hauglid. The Boca Juniors fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Einar Hauglid should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the ЀĄ†ħ И؆€ players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
