Nereo Venerando took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Adrian Urtats. Adrian Urtats dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Arnulfo Valentine could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Esteve Libertad made a huge save. If Ubaldo Presebal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Urtats showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Argenis, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. If Ubaldo Presebal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Zubillaga FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Nerio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Victorino Argenis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Urtats having to interfere. When Ubaldo Presebal came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Zubillaga FC fans jumped to their feet.
