Everardo Rios made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pedernera's goalkeeper Everardo Rios, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Generoso Clodio came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the los sureños fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Generoso Clodio couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, Carmelo Gentza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Damaso Harri charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damaso Harri the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fermin Lorencio got free with Roque Izotz in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Ciriaco Bernat sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedernera's Everardo Rios proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Pedernera from getting a goal against them. los sureños's Roque Izotz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Lorencio in the 89th minute of play. Fermin Lorencio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. los sureños had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
