Gongan's supporters rose to their feet, but Rosendo Laurendi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roque Izotz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristo Eguen charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. One of Gongan:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of los sureños:s goal. The referee gave los sureños a penalty, 48 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Damaso Harri, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Gongan's Guaberto Vincente. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Roque Izotz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benigno Fresco in the 58th minute. Rosendo Laurendi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roque Izotz came out and tried to block the shot, but Rosendo Laurendi slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 64th minute. After 67 minutes, Gerardo Lop mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the los sureños and the Gongan players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 68th minute of the match Angelino Larpe shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Roque Izotz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Gerardo Lop kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Roque Izotz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosendo Laurendi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Carmelo Gentza came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the los sureños fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carmelo Gentza couldn't finish the play. Guaberto Vincente came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by los sureños's Generoso Clodio. But to his dismay, Generoso Clodio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. The supporters of Gongan booed when los sureños was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Generoso Clodio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Generoso Clodio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Guaberto Vincente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carmelo Gentza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guaberto Vincente having to make a save. There was no doubt that los sureños were the better team. los sureños's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
