A collision led to Santa Paola getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Damian Alvarez hit a great ball. Fabricio Martinez's late challenge caught a Santa Paola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabricio Martinez helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Santa Paola booed when atletico de rafaela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabricio Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geronimo Eleazar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Hernando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Santa Paola's Osvaldo Onofre got a free kick in the 15th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Adrian Piearres could shoot a difficult shot in the 18th minute, which Geronimo Eleazar however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celestino Hernando in the 19th minute of play forced Santa Paola's goalkeeper Geronimo Eleazar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stratos Kranidiotis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Alvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 27 minutes of play, Santa Paola's Damian Alvarez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stratos Kranidiotis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Geronimo Eleazar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Hernando in the 36th minute of play. Stratos Kranidiotis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natalio Vela in the 37th minute of the match. The supporters of Santa Paola booed when atletico de rafaela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Piearres didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes into the match, atletico de rafaela's goal looked a bit too open when Natalio Vela came free, but Stratos Kranidiotis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Primitivo Seguinus hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Santa Paola were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the match, Santa Paola's Damian Alvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stratos Kranidiotis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in atletico de rafaela's zone, Damian Alvarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stratos Kranidiotis came out of the goal and Damian Alvarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Natalio Vela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Stratos Kranidiotis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geronimo Eleazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Piearres in the 61st minute of the match. Jimeno Tanio hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Natalio Vela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute Damian Alvarez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stratos Kranidiotis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Osvaldo Onofre managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santa Paola's supporters rose to their feet, but Osvaldo Onofre was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stratos Kranidiotis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Natalio Vela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Stratos Kranidiotis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Damian Alvarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Alvarez got free with Stratos Kranidiotis in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by atletico de rafaela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Omar Bertran was slow to take the kick. During this time Santa Paola's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Alvarez got free with Stratos Kranidiotis in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Natalio Vela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geronimo Eleazar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Piearres in the 84th minute of the match. Damian Alvarez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Celestino Hernando scored 1-2 in the 90th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geronimo Eleazar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Damian Alvarezs short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got Stratos Kranidiotis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. atletico de rafaela's Stratos Kranidiotis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natalio Vela in the 97th minute of play. The Santa Paola players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
