Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) el santo d la ciudadela's Filomeno Cordareo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Filomeno Cordareo in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Celestino Lizar saved Matagusanos from getting behind. Feliciano Bikendi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celestino Lizar having to interfere. Adolfo Nesor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Raul Montel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of el santo d la ciudadela booed when Matagusanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julian Ermano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Filomeno Cordareo in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Celestino Lizar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute el santo d la ciudadela were awarded a corner. Celestino Bastiaro went to the cornerflag to take it. Carlos Tajo hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Filomeno Cordareo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 23 played minutes Matagusanos got a freekick which was hit by Julian Ermano. Celestino Lizar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elvio Benet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 27 minutes into the match, Feliciano Bikendi notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Matagusanos's Celestino Lizar. Celestino Lizar was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Filomeno Cordareo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Filomeno Cordareo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Amador Santxol fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matagusanos's protests and gave Amador Santxol a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th minute, Aurelijus Uogintas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dario Diegotxe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Raul Montel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dario Diegotxe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dario Diegotxe recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Adolfo Nesor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Raul Montel was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Feliciano Bikendi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Celestino Lizar firmly grabbed it by the left post. Julian Ermano hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Adolfo Nesor's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Raul Montel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play.
