Gavino Cordero made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Aquiles Romo sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Los Bohemios's Casimiro Laurendi got a free kick in the 15th minute. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Amancio Favila put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Feliberto Betadur. In a very dangerous position, a player in Los Pibes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 24 minutes, Los Bohemios's Aquiles Romo got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gavino Cordero. Amancio Favila struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Feliberto Betadur didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Los Pibes. Godfredo Goyo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Leopoldo Birila's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gavino Cordero read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes into the game, Rosendo Florin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Pibes's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Los Bohemios the free kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leopoldo Birila made a kick off. Aquiles Romo took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gavino Cordero. Gavino Cordero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After some careless play in the Los Pibes defense, Leopoldo Birila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gavino Cordero. The Los Pibes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gavino Cordero should have stopped the shot. Gavino Cordero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aquiles Romo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 70 played minutes Los Bohemios got a freekick which was hit by Inocencio Odon. If Amancio Favila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amancio Favila in the 77th minute of play forced Los Bohemios's goalkeeper Feliberto Betadur to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Leopoldo Birila came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Los Bohemios fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leopoldo Birila couldn't finish the play. If Amancio Favila had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Los Pibes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
