After 36 played minutes Gunners FC got a freekick which was hit by Melquiades Sendoa. Isidro Veremundo might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Raul Cheche. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Isidro Veremundo ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Gunners FC's zone, Isidro Veremundo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raul Cheche came out of the goal and Isidro Veremundo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Baltasar Inguma struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Raul Cheche didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boca Juniors. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Desiderio Formerio made a kick off. Desiderio Formerio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fede Burdisso hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Damaso Mitxaut charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Damaso Mitxaut the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Gunners FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Damaso Mitxaut hit a great ball. Boca Juniors's Isidro Veremundo got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raul Cheche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Baltasar Inguma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 62 minutes into the game, Baltasar Inguma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Raul Cheche was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boca Juniors's Baltasar Inguma got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Baltasar Inguma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Baltasar Inguma sped through Gunners FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Raul Cheche. In the 85th minute, Melquiades Sendoa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gunners FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. Armando Ostots sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raul Cheche showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baltasar Inguma, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Boca Juniors had played much better football throughout.
