Samuel Monte showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isaias Olentzaro in the 16th minute of the match. Samuel Monte took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto Rafel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Roberto Rafel came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Maru FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roberto Rafel couldn't finish the play. After 28 minutes of play, Maru FC's Isaias Olentzaro made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Samuel Monte was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Jairo Paublo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ambrosio Rosio received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Justo Blasco came out and tried to block the shot, but Ambrosio Rosio slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 35th minute. The supporters of LINIERS F.C. booed when Maru FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leon Abechuco didn't get a good kick on the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Maru FC's Roberto Rafel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Monte narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Isaias Olentzaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Monte was relentless in the 46th minute of the game.

Emilio Resto's late challenge caught a Maru FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Emilio Resto helped the player get up and apologised. If Ambrosio Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd minute, Florentino Paez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net.
