Katmandú's supporters rose to their feet, but Niceto Muno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isidro Haimar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Isidro Haimar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Inguma in the 11th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Simplement Futbol defense, Niceto Muno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Isidro Haimar. The Simplement Futbol fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Isidro Haimar should have stopped the shot. In the 18th minute Niceto Muno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidro Haimar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Inguma got in the 19th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Isidro Haimar handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mutlualp Yamanoz in the 21st minute of play forced Simplement Futbol's goalkeeper Isidro Haimar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 23 minutes, Julio Inguma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Katmandú's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julio Inguma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edgard Fanuco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaston Bastiaro in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Simplement Futbol got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Bastiaro. With 34 minutes on the clock, Nemesio Tabby commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Katmandú fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! A long shot from Fermin Arnalt in the 43rd minute of play was well struck, but Edgard Fanuco made a really good save at the right post. Edgard Fanuco made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Alberto Gabon sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaston Bastiaro in the 48th minute of play forced Katmandú's goalkeeper Edgard Fanuco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaston Bastiaro was the one to do the kick off. When Alberto Gabon came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Simplement Futbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Gabon couldn't finish the play. 55 minutes into the match, Alberto Gabon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edgard Fanuco. Katmandú's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Gabon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Niceto Muno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Haimar having to interfere. If Mutlualp Yamanoz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Alberto Gabon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Simplement Futbol's zone, Mutlualp Yamanoz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Isidro Haimar came out of the goal and Mutlualp Yamanoz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
