The supporters of Pampita booed when CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Gartzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 13th match minute, Pampita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isidro Abecia to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, one of Pampita:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pampita. Pampita:s Elpidio Pello showed great skill when he stopped Fausto Rosio:s penalty. The crowd rose to their feet as CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Carlos Gorosti slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elpidio Pello. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Carlos Gorosti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elpidio Pello having to make a save. In the 28th minute of the match Ramiro Jorrin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Ekhi skillfully saved the ball. If Isidro Abecia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute Isidro Abecia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ekhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eduardo Valentine kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st minute of the match Angelino Arano sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gabriel Ekhi skillfully saved the ball. In the 43rd minute Isidro Abecia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ekhi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maximiliano Gartzi hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Santo Luzaide from long distance, 47 minutes into the match, got Elpidio Pello's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The wind increased when Isidro Abecia made the kick off in the second half. Pampita's Isidro Abecia got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ambrosio Hechter took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Ekhi. Gabriel Ekhi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. A collision led to Pampita getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Marcos Ubelteso hit a great ball. Elpidio Pello came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Urbes Ceja. But to his dismay, Urbes Ceja quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. If Fausto Rosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Gabriel Ekhi got control of the ball when Ambrosio Hechter tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 84th match minute, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Gasteiz to maneuver through the defense. Elpidio Pello stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Gorosti's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Pampita players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
