With a left leg Ciro Esiquio saved Rompetibias FC from getting behind. In the 5th match minute, Rompetibias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Arce to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th minute of the match Edelmiro Bonadona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Esiquio showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 7 minutes into the game, Banfield 1896 FC's Santiago Leizarraga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciro Esiquio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 12th minute Sergio Gar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Savion saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Paulino Kauldi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leandro Savion was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Arnoldo Kismi capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnoldo Kismi really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Banfield 1896 FC's Leandro Savion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Banfield 1896 FC from getting a goal against them. Santiago Leizarraga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santiago Leizarraga struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Ciro Esiquio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Banfield 1896 FC. After 33 played minutes Banfield 1896 FC got a freekick which was hit by Dariusz Kaczanka. After a defensive mix-up in Banfield 1896 FC's zone, Saverio Gonzales stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Savion came out of the goal and Saverio Gonzales tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 39th minute Santiago Leizarraga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Esiquio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Qian Kuan Bing made a precise shot to the right of Ciro Esiquio. Rompetibias FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Banfield 1896 FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Santiago Leizarraga to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Rompetibias FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Arnoldo Kismi hit a great ball. Ciro Esiquio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Qian Kuan Bing's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Mei Jun Lang in the 62ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ciro Esiquio, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Qian Kuan Bing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Leizarraga got free with Ciro Esiquio in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mei Jun Lang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciro Esiquio having to interfere. Rompetibias FC's Ciro Esiquio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qian Kuan Bing in the 82nd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Rompetibias FC's goal looked a bit too open when Qian Kuan Bing came free, but Ciro Esiquio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santiago Leizarraga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th match minute, Rompetibias FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Gonzales to maneuver through the defense. 98 minutes into the match, Santiago Leizarraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ciro Esiquio. Rompetibias FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Santiago Leizarraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Banfield 1896 FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
