Aston Birra's Tomas Tajo got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, Lanus's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Tajo came free, but Octavio Barrionuevo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lanus booed when Aston Birra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jimeno Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 27thth minute of the game Tomas Tajo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lanus's Octavio Barrionuevo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Justino Aurre was a little too slow when Remigio Matro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 30th minute. The score was now 2-0. If Tomas Tajo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jimeno Franco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Barrionuevo having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Remigio Matro made a kick off. 54 minutes into the match, Lanus's goalkeeper Octavio Barrionuevo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jimeno Franco. In the 59th minute Remigio Matro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justino Aurre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th match minute, Aston Birra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jimeno Franco to maneuver through the defense. In the 65th minute, Remigio Matro made a precise shot to the right of Justino Aurre. Aston Birra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Justino Aurre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remigio Matro's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute, Remigio Matro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Justino Aurre was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. Aston Birra's Justino Aurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Matro in the 83rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Aston Birra defense, Remigio Matro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Justino Aurre. The Aston Birra fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Justino Aurre should have stopped the shot. If Jimeno Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 89 played minutes Lanus got a freekick which was hit by Angelino Mikolas. Aston Birra's Justino Aurre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remigio Matro in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Lanus's Remigio Matro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Justino Aurre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lanus had won after a very even match.
