The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 played minutes, Flamengo's Prospero Guillerme shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pascual Eutropio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Flamengo reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Filomeno Ferman in the 12th minute of play forced Atlas FC's goalkeeper Pascual Eutropio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prospero Guillerme kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Flamengo's Esteve Blasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo from getting a goal against them. In the 17th minute, Jarl Brenner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 19th minute, Atlas FC's Oscar Calixto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Esteve Blasco. Esteve Blasco yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. After a rather tough play, Flamengo's Filomeno Ferman got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Esteve Blasco made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Oscar Calixto sent off a good shot on target. If Bastian Giese had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Atlas FC's Pascual Eutropio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filomeno Ferman in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th match minute, Atlas FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Federico Nardo to maneuver through the defense. After 31 played minutes Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Fernan Costante. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jarl Brenner in the 36th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper Esteve Blasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Fernan Costante hit a great ball. Jarl Brenner was extremely unlucky when he, in the 42nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Esteve Blasco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Calixto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leon Urre to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jarl Brenner to make the kick off. The supporters of Flamengo booed when Atlas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iker Perrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Flamengo getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Fernan Costante hit a great ball. If Jarl Brenner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Bastian Giese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Esteve Blasco was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Jarl Brenner might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Esteve Blasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jarl Brenner ran back to his position shaking his head. Pascual Eutropio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Ferman, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Oscar Calixto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Esteve Blasco having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Fernan Costante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oscar Calixto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 78 minutes into the match, Jarl Brenner had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Esteve Blasco. Flamengo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jarl Brenner was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. 83 minutes into the match, Atlas FC's Jarl Brenner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Esteve Blasco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Atlas FC booed when Flamengo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernan Costante didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jarl Brenner had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pepito Vina was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlas FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 92nd minute. Penalty! In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Flamengo. Severiano Rosio stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pascual Eutropio. 3-1. Esteve Blasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jarl Brenner in the 99th minute of the match.
