Turgay Acun charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Turgay Acun the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Regina C. A.'s Turgay Acun got a free kick in the 15th minute. Samuel Igon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Urbano Danel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Americo Maiorga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 23 minutes into the match, Alfonso Jerrald notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Regina C. A.'s Ubaldo Millan. Ubaldo Millan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Regina C. A.'s Ubaldo Millan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Larra in the 27th minute of play. Urbano Danel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 29th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Camilo Ciceron. 33 minutes into the match, Regina C. A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Zeledon Larra came free, but Ubaldo Millan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ubaldo Millan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso Jerrald in the 39th minute of play. Alfonso Jerrald scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ubaldo Millan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 46th minute, Samuel Igon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The corner was taken by Serafin Liher in the 53rd minute. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Zeledon Larra got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 59th minute Alfonso Jerrald shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ubaldo Millan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
