After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Augusto Emesto managed to get in a good position for a shot. La Esperanza Atletico's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Emesto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Natalio Corderro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Rosendo Chucho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Peguahó FC were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after La Esperanza Atletico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Prudencio Milio took the corner. Prudencio Milio made a great header on Peguahó FC's corner, it was just that La Esperanza Atletico's Anier Rius managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 29th minute, Rolando Oroitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Peguahó FC's Prudencio Milio tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, La Esperanza Atletico's goalkeeper Anier Rius had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rosendo Chucho. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Hernandez in the 34th minute of play forced Peguahó FC's goalkeeper Natalio Corderro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A sloppy throw-in by Evelio Silbestre in the 44th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by La Esperanza Atletico's Segundo Colas. When Ermegildo Hernandez came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the La Esperanza Atletico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ermegildo Hernandez couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Albino Acuña made the kick off in the second half. Anier Rius showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rosendo Chucho, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Arnulfo Lalla kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, La Esperanza Atletico's Teo Llorenc seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Teo Llorenc the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of La Esperanza Atletico protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Teo Llorenc had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of La Esperanza Atletico:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peguahó FC:s goal. In the 90th minute Rosendo Chucho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anier Rius saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
