PEIRA FOOTBALL CLUB's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnulfo Chayo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Erubiel Mannie got free with Gustavo Bartuelo in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gustavo Bartuelo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Chayo in the 30th minute of play. Ricardo Abella scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nicasio Veremundo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Betunga FC's zone, Erubiel Mannie stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo Bartuelo came out of the goal and Erubiel Mannie tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 44 minutes into the match, Betunga FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnulfo Chayo came free, but Gustavo Bartuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 48 played minutes PEIRA FOOTBALL CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Benjamin Sal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Erubiel Mannie managed to get in a good position for a shot. PEIRA FOOTBALL CLUB's supporters rose to their feet, but Erubiel Mannie was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Bartuelo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Despite being the better team, PEIRA FOOTBALL CLUB failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
