But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eulalio Ireno couldn't finish the play. After having played for 18 minutes, Nunez Gaskon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Farillón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nunez Gaskon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leonides Segio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado Vasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nunez Gaskon fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Farillón's protests and gave Nunez Gaskon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Farillón getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Nunez Gaskon hit a great ball. Eulalio Ireno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Tab having to interfere. During the 29th minute of the match Nunez Gaskon completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nunez Gaskon a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 30 played minutes Farillón got a freekick which was hit by Nunez Gaskon. Austral City AC's Eulalio Ireno pulled a muscle in his back after 39 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 39 minutes, Luciano Panfilo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Farillón and the Austral City AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Austral City AC's Vicente Txeru was substituted for Eulalio Ireno. The referee gave Austral City AC a penalty, 42 minutes into the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivan Fernado was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Vicente Txeru from a close distance when the talented Victorio Tab managed to make a qualified save. Farillón's players were relieved. 56 minutes into the game, Laureano Sergi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Farillón's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Austral City AC the free kick. The supporters of Austral City AC booed when Farillón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Sergi didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Txeru in the 57th minute of play forced Farillón's goalkeeper Victorio Tab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Laureano Sergi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leonides Segio was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Robustiano Bertol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorio Tab having to interfere. Vicente Txeru could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Victorio Tab made a huge save. Leonides Segio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Laureano Sergi in the 68th minute of play. In the 69th minute Robustiano Bertol shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorio Tab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vicente Txeru's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Victorio Tab firmly grabbed it by the left post.
