Wellington Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anselmo Eduino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 12 minutes into the match, Limón FC's Ruperto Victoro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ruperto Victoro hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Anselmo Eduino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Saverio Dalmau fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tymoteusz Sakowicz having to interfere. Hernan Kemen hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Tymoteusz Sakowicz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alejandro Preda in the 31st minute of the match. Antonio Asier got a throw-in 35 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Bavo Van Den Brande. Horacio Argüello hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Andy Johnson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alejandro Preda was the one to do the kick off. Antonio Asier hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. Anselmo Eduino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Gaúcho having to interfere. Hernan Kemen was shown his second yellow card after 57 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 58 played minutes Villa Ballester FC got a freekick which was hit by Hernan Kemen. Villa Ballester FC's Wellington Gaúcho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Villa Ballester FC from getting a goal against them. Natalio Toro's late challenge caught a Limón FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Natalio Toro helped the player get up and apologised. After 61 played minutes Villa Ballester FC got a freekick which was hit by Natalio Toro. The throw-in from Andy Johnson in the 66th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Villa Ballester FC's Silvio Lehoi. 72 minutes into the match, Villa Ballester FC's goalkeeper Wellington Gaúcho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anselmo Eduino. Wellington Gaúcho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anselmo Eduino in the 73rd minute. In the 75th minute, Limón FC's Anton Tunar dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Anselmo Eduino took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Wellington Gaúcho to make any attempt to save it. In the 83rd minute of the match, Anselmo Eduino got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wellington Gaúcho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Silvio Lehoi charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Silvio Lehoi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Silvio Lehoi kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Andy Johnson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Wellington Gaúcho made a huge save. The supporters of Villa Ballester FC booed when Limón FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruperto Victoro didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anton Tunar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Limón FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
