But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Meder couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Abaunza in the 15th minute of play forced Ñirihuau FC's goalkeeper Cristian Venerando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17th minute Emilio Abaunza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristian Venerando saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 19 in the game by Hugo Meder from a close distance when the talented Cristian Venerando managed to make a qualified save. Ñirihuau FC's players were relieved. Hugo Meder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Venerando having to interfere. A collision led to Ñirihuau FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Marcelino Karlo hit a great ball. In the 46th minute, Cayetano Orlondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Venerando was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Filiberto Osoitz.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marcelino Karlo to make the kick off. Marcelino Karlo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Emilio Abaunza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amancio Vergaray showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelino Karlo in the 59th minute of the match. Emilio Abaunza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Venerando having to interfere. Cristian Venerando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Abaunza, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Abaunza in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cristian Venerando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 75 minutes of play, Pueblo AFC's Hugo Meder made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cristian Venerando was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hugo Meder fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristian Venerando having to interfere. After 80 played minutes Pueblo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Danilo Cordara. A collision led to Ñirihuau FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Arnulfo Olayo hit a great ball. The Pueblo AFC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Pueblo AFC's Emilio Abaunza looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Pueblo AFC's zone, Marcelino Karlo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Vergaray came out of the goal and Marcelino Karlo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Meder in the 93rd minute of play forced Ñirihuau FC's goalkeeper Cristian Venerando to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pueblo AFC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
