Thiago FC's Steve Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nereo Dubardo in the 18th minute of play. After 22 minutes, Sergio Qwinton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caraguatay and the Thiago FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Steve Nunes made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Atilano Innocenzio sent off a good shot on target. When Nereo Dubardo came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Caraguatay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Dubardo couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Caraguatay's Nereo Dubardo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Steve Nunes. That made the score 0-3 after 56 minutes of play. Simon Gar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narcis Ioniță in the 60th minute of play. When Cristian Pavon fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thiago FC's protests and gave Cristian Pavon a yellow card for diving instead. Cristian Pavon hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Atilano Innocenzio got free with Steve Nunes in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Atilano Innocenzio charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Atilano Innocenzio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute Nereo Dubardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Caraguatay booed when Thiago FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arsenio Orkatz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 83rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Caraguatay's goalkeeper Simon Gar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thiago FC's attentive Arsenio Orkatz managed to snatch the ball when Wilfredo Fraco made a throw-in in the 85th minute of the game. Simon Gar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Narcis Ioniță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fidel Navarro struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Simon Gar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Thiago FC. Atilano Innocenzio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Steve Nunes made a huge save. Steve Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nereo Dubardo in the 94th minute of the match. The Thiago FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Caraguatay's performance. The match ended with a win for Caraguatay.
