Bonifacio Papo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariano Aballe having to interfere. Bonifacio Papo might have been able to make a better finish in the 6th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mariano Aballe. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bonifacio Papo ran back to his position shaking his head. When Evaristo Astigar came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Belgrano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Astigar couldn't finish the play. The supporters of XLVIII Club de Fútbol booed when Belgrano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evaristo Astigar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Julio Aires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 27 minutes into the match, XLVIII Club de Fútbol's Julio Aires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benigno Hermo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. XLVIII Club de Fútbol's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anastasio Bibiano in the 29th minute. The corner ended in Anastasio Bibiano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgrano's Benigno Hermo did a great save. Julio Aires took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benigno Hermo. Benigno Hermo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Mariano Aballe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Astigar, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. If Froilan Kiliz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Belgrano players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. XLVIII Club de Fútbol were winning 0-1.

After a defensive mix-up in XLVIII Club de Fútbol's zone, Bonifacio Papo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mariano Aballe came out of the goal and Bonifacio Papo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 54 played minutes XLVIII Club de Fútbol got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Bibiano. XLVIII Club de Fútbol's Mariano Aballe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Froilan Kiliz in the 62nd minute of play. Arnoldo Martinez's late challenge caught a Belgrano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arnoldo Martinez helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Bonifacio Papo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgrano's supporters rose to their feet, but Bonifacio Papo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. XLVIII Club de Fútbol's Mariano Aballe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bonifacio Papo in the 84th minute of play. After 93 minutes of play, Belgrano's Bonifacio Papo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mariano Aballe was left in no man's land by his defense there!
