The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascual Goito in the 3rd minute of play forced FC Sagittarius's goalkeeper Cristobal Quintun to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Berraondo's goal looked a bit too open when Pascual Gabrio came free, but Godfredo Atarratze reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 8 minutes into the match, FC Sagittarius's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Bidun came free, but Cristobal Quintun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Sagittarius's supporters rose to their feet, but Gürkan Orenel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godfredo Atarratze breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Simon Bidun to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Simon Bidun reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cristobal Quintun. The goal made the score 2-1. Cristobal Quintun came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Berraondo's Simon Bidun. But to his dismay, Simon Bidun quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Thanks to some nice moves Pascual Goito could shoot a difficult shot in the 65th minute, which Cristobal Quintun however easily saved by the left post. After 77 played minutes Berraondo got a freekick which was hit by Vladimiro Cordeiro. FC Sagittarius made a substitution. Israel Larpe replaced Domingo Tximitx. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Godfredo Atarratze showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Gürkan Orenel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gürkan Orenel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godfredo Atarratze having to interfere.
