After a defensive mix-up in Rosario Central's zone, Cipriano Prejun stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Freddy Lain came out of the goal and Cipriano Prejun tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cipriano Prejun in the 12th minute of play forced Rosario Central's goalkeeper Freddy Lain to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Gregorio Luar fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rosario Central's protests and gave Gregorio Luar a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Rosario Central got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Luar. After having played for 15 minutes, Cipriano Prejun managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rio Platense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cipriano Prejun was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Prejun scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freddy Lain, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Gregorio Quinton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Americo Ramirez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Venancio Prejun struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Americo Ramirez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rosario Central. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Rodolfo Gutxi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rio Platense's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Gutxi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Freddy Lain breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Rio Platense's Rodolfo Gutxi in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. That was the end of his participation in the match. Gregorio Luar hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cipriano Prejun in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Freddy Lain saved Rosario Central from getting behind. Cipriano Prejun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodolfo Gutxi made a kick off. Cipriano Prejuns short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Freddy Lain to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Freddy Lain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Gutxi, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. With a little luck, Rosario Central's Freddy Lain got control of the ball when Cipriano Prejun tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 67th minute, one of Rosario Central:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rosario Central. When the match had been going on for 69 minutes, Rio Platense's Rodolfo Gutxi got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Freddy Lain. In the 73rd minute, Venancio Prejun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Segundo Gaur took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Freddy Lain. Rosario Central's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 81stth minute of the game Amador Kismi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rosario Central's Freddy Lain was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Freddy Lain stood somewhat misplaced when Rodolfo Gutxi came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 82 minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Rio Platense's Rodolfo Gutxi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Freddy Lain. That made the score 0-6 after 94 minutes of play. A hard shot 98 in the game by Cipriano Prejun from a close distance when the talented Freddy Lain managed to make a qualified save. Rosario Central's players were relieved.
