After a rather tough play, Piamonte's Feliberto Gombal got a free kick in the 27th minute. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Serafino Celino put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gerardo Dolcet. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Serafino Celino sped through Piamonte's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gerardo Dolcet. Serafino Celino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Gerardo Dolcet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Al-Ahly's Serafino Celino fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Gerardo Dolcet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Abeita in the 42nd minute of play. Al-Ahly were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Piamonte's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lu Yao Kang took the corner. Lu Yao Kang made a great header on Al-Ahly's corner, it was just that Piamonte's Gerardo Dolcet managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafino Celino to make the kick off. Serafino Celino did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised Gerardo Dolcet 83 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute, Serafino Celino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elvio Ladov struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Gerardo Dolcet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Al-Ahly. After a defensive mix-up in Piamonte's zone, Serafino Celino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerardo Dolcet came out of the goal and Serafino Celino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Piamonte fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Al-Ahly were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
