Stanislav Vološin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernan Johans in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Venancio Gartzen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Felipe Moise. Independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Venancio Gartzen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Bruno Pelayo made in the 75th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Tobias Fresco immediately put the ball in play. 78 minutes into the match, Tobias Fresco dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Stanislav Vološin, 2-1. If Marcial Pacorro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rene Berriotxoa kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Valle fans cheered their team off the field, for while Independiente had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
