When Gaspar Txanton came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the LEIVA 1974 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Txanton couldn't finish the play. Baldomero Ubelteso was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Diego Paio showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 17th minute, Diego Paio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Baldomero Ubelteso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaspar Txanton in the 22nd minute of play. When Gaspar Txanton came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the LEIVA 1974 fans jumped to their feet. After a defensive mix-up in LEIVA 1974's zone, Desiderio Neto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Melquiades Bertran came out of the goal and Desiderio Neto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Melquiades Bertran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulises Estebano in the 41st minute of play. Elias Urdaspal kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Gaspar Txanton made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Diego Paio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the San Telmo defense, Diego Paio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Baldomero Ubelteso. The San Telmo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Baldomero Ubelteso should have stopped the shot. In the 56thth minute of the game Gaspar Txanton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Telmo's Baldomero Ubelteso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Diego Paio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baldomero Ubelteso having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gaspar Txanton in the 63rd minute of play forced San Telmo's goalkeeper Baldomero Ubelteso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldomero Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Txanton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 68 minutes into the match, Gaspar Txanton notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of San Telmo's Baldomero Ubelteso. Baldomero Ubelteso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 72nd minute, Ulises Estebano reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Melquiades Bertran. The goal made the score 3-1. Diego Paio scored 4-1 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baldomero Ubelteso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Baldomero Ubelteso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gaspar Txanton's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Baldomero Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaspar Txanton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baldomero Ubelteso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gaspar Txanton went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. After a defensive mix-up in San Telmo's zone, Diego Paio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baldomero Ubelteso came out of the goal and Diego Paio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 95 minutes into the match, San Telmo's Ulises Estebano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Melquiades Bertran narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that LEIVA 1974 were the better team. LEIVA 1974's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
