After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Victorino Ponciano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Higuerita's supporters rose to their feet, but Victorino Ponciano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Leandro Lop breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 12 minutes, Rigoberto Oton mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boca Juniors and the Higuerita players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th match minute, Boca Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Oton to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the game, Adolfo Jeraldo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Higuerita the free kick. After 14 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Adolfo Jeraldo. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Teofilo Herrera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Justo Guillem in the 19th minute of play forced Higuerita's goalkeeper Teofilo Herrera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Angelino Galtero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Justo Guillem recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Teofilo Herrera. Justo Guillem showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Boca Juniors's Samuel Lain got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Boca Juniors's zone, Rosendo Ursino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leandro Lop came out of the goal and Rosendo Ursino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Victorino Ponciano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leandro Lop didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rosendo Ursino went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Rosendo Ursino made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Higuerita's zone, Justo Guillem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teofilo Herrera came out of the goal and Justo Guillem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Justo Guillem in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teofilo Herrera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Samuel Lain came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Boca Juniors fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Samuel Lain couldn't finish the play. Victorino Ponciano hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 65th match minute, Higuerita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rosendo Ursino to maneuver through the defense. Angelino Galtero kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Teofilo Herrera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Justo Guillem in the 71st minute of the match. Victorino Ponciano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victorino Ponciano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Leandro Lop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Boca Juniors's Leandro Lop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Victorino Ponciano in the 86th minute of play. Leandro Lop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Ursino in the 87th minute of play. Leandro Lop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victorino Ponciano, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Hugo Bras hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. In the 93rd match minute, Higuerita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victorino Ponciano to maneuver through the defense. Justo Guillem fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Herrera having to interfere. Higuerita were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Boca Juniors to leave the ground with a draw.
